Sonia Johnson will sing at the Maison de la Culture Cotes des Neiges at 8 p.m. tonight. (The show is free but it would be wise to reserve tickets online.)
I have seen Sonia Johnson perform many times and I think she and her voice are great. If you don’t trust me, consider that she won a Juno (for Juno Best Vocal Jazz album, in 2012) and has worked with Vic Vogel, Charles Biddle, Jr., François Bourassa, Roberto Lopez, John Roney, Karen Young and Dawn Tyler Watson.
You can reserve tickets online here. The show itself is free but there’s a $2 handling charge. Seems fair enough. And if its sells out before show time, you’ll save yourself a trip!
